Swift Nest Boxes
We were lucky enough to be asked to take part in an exciting project to encourage Swifts to nest in the church tower. Nesting boxes have been built by Mr Ryan (one of our Governors) and placed in the tower on the opposite side to the clock. Each class was asked to name one of the nest boxes. The children were asked to think of names for the boxes, and each class voted for their favourite name. We then made a label for each name. You can see the name labels in the photo below. Thank you for letting us be part of this exciting project, and we look forward to seeing lots of swifts nesting in the new boxes.

How Hill - Tuesday 27th February
We have had another great day in Norfolk. We started off the morning learning how to thatch and going out on the broads for a boat ride. We saw lots of different bird species on the broads. A marsh harrier flying in near the broads was particularly impressive.
After lunch we visitied a marsh man's cottage. Marsh men tended the reeds and sedge and also looked after the windmills. The cottage was quite small for the marsh man, his wife and his nine children. We also examined owl pellets this afternoon. We found a whole host of bones from mice, voles and even a brown rat. We all went outside for orienteering.
This evening we have had spaghetti bolognaise, jelly and ice cream. We have been to the shop and have packed ready to leave tomorrow. We are watching Moana. Hopefully we will have another good night's sleep!

How Hill - Monday 26th February
We arrived in Norfolk this morning and unloaded the coach and walked up to How Hill. We had our lunch before our activities. We went on a nature walk around the Trust site, we saw all the different habitats and looked at different trees and plants. There are two night vision cameras that we put up outside, hopefully we will see some of the wildlife in the area, such as Chinese Water Deer.
We had a warming hot chocolate drink during our break before dyke dipping. We found lots of interesting creatures in the dykes, such as water nymphs.
We came back for our dinner of fish fingers, chips, sweetcorn, peas, salad and coleslaw; followed by chocolate cake. We have had a Wymeswold's Got Talent contest tonight.
Snow watch: we have had some snow showers today, bit it has been mostly clear.
After all of today's walking we are hoping for a good night's sleep!

Young Voices 2018
Well done to all of the children (and staff) for their fantastic performance in the Young Voices Choir 2018 at the Birmingham Genting Arena on Thursday 11th January. There was over 6,000 children in the choir, with schools coming from all over the country. Their behaviour and performance was a exceptional and they were fantastic embassadors for the school. Thank you to all of the parents who supported us by attending the concert and allowing their children to take part. It was a fantastic evening of entertainment and a brilliant opportunity for the children to experience. A special thank you to Mrs Evans for organising the trip and teaching the children all of the songs and dances!
