Special Educational Needs and Disability Information Report and Local Offer

Access to the Local Offer - Welcome | Leicestershire County Council
A Local Offer is information about the support and facilities available for families , and what they can expect to find to support their child with SEND. As we are a Leicestershire school this is what may be available to your child whilst they are at Wymeswold C of E Primary.
Special Educational Needs and Disability School Policy
Accessability Plan
The School Nurse offers lots of help and advice about a wide range of topics. The local School Nurses are based at Charnwood Mill, in Barrow on Soar. There is information about the nursing service here. There are regular drop in sessions held in school, should you wish to speak to one of the nurses. If you have any questions, or wish to contact the nurse, please speak to the school office.

IEP
If your child requires and Individual Education Plan to support their learning and needs, the class teacher may discuss this with you and will be supported and advised by the senco if an IEP is appropriate. The class teacher is responsible for creating the IEP including smart targets and strategies. This should then be reviewed  every term with parental input and pupil voice where appropriate.  You may be contacted to come and review this in school, if you wish for the senco to be a part of that meeting please contact through email. If you are asked for your comments on the review and we do not get a response this section will remain blank.

Pupil passports
A pupil passport is a one page document identifying the pupils needs, likes and dislikes along with provision and strategies to support them. This document will be updated accordingly and you should receive a copy. They are in each class's SEND folder giving all staff knowledge of pupils with SEND.

Graduated response.
Please find below a flowchart showing the graduated response we follow to addressing and supported a child with send.

Picture
Hello, I'm Miss Billson I currently teach class 2 and am also the senco as of August 23. I have taught for 3 years all of which have been at Wymeswold C of E Primary School in year 1.
I became senco this year and hope to support all pupils, parents and staff to ensure the best provision is provided so pupils can achieve their full potential and feel happy and safe in school. I am currently doing my PGcert in the NASENco degree which all senco are required to do within 3 year of starting their practise. I am enjoying the course and learning lots of ways to support our school along the way.
My senco time is on a Thursday morning however I am available to contact through email and meetings can be arranged for alternative times or days. Please also feel free to catch me on the playground at the end of the day if you have a question or want to arrange a meeting.
Your class teachers are also available through their class emails if it is regarding an IEP, pupil passport or academic progress.
